Today the Rock River Valley Blood Center awarded a trophy to Freeport for winning the Schools Unite to Save Lives blood donation challenge. This is the second year in a row Freeport has claimed the top spot.
The blood center partnered with local high schools again this spring to help increase blood donations during March, April and May. This challenge was initiated by the Guilford High School Health Science Academy as a way to not only encourage students, but to urge alumni, parents and community members to show their support to the area schools and our community by making a blood donation.
